Did you know that Petronas, one of the largest energy multinationals in the world, is about to revolutionize the fuel market in Brazil? With a strategic partnership with SIM Distribuidora, from the Argenta Group, the Asian giant launched its first stations in the country.
What is most impressive about this is the company expansion plan, which intends to open a thousand stations across the country, promising to transform the way Brazilians fuel their vehicles.
According to the information, SIM Distribuidora, a company from Rio Grande do Sul belonging to the Argenta Group, is collaborating with Petronas, Malaysian multinational, to bring its fuel brand to Brazil.
The first three stations are already in operation, located in strategic points: on the Castelo Branco Highway and on two important avenues in São Paulo – Faria Lima and Corifeu de Azevedo Marques. This is just the beginning of a vast expansion, with the promise of opening a thousand units in the coming years.

Petronas' entry into Brazil represents a significant milestone, being the first market outside Malaysia to receive its stations.
This movement highlights the importance of Brazil for the multinational and its desire to expand internationally.
According to Neco Argenta, president of the Argenta Group, this expansion is crucial to reinforce the company's presence in Brazil and especially in São Paulo, one of the largest financial centers in the country.
Cutting-edge technology arrives in Brazil
Petronas stations in Brazil will not only offer common fuels. The partnership brings advanced technologies such as PETRONAS Primax™ fuel and PETRONAS Syntium™ lubricants, known for their innovations and superior performance.
According to Ahmad Adly Alias, Vice President of Refining, Trading and Marketing at Petronas, “We are bringing our Fluid Technology™ Solutions that power champions on the Formula 1 tracks directly to customers in São Paulo.”
Expansion and economic impact
In addition to offering high quality products, Petronas' expansion in Brazil promises to positively impact the local economy. The opening of a thousand positions will result in thousands of new direct and indirect jobs.
This growth is aligned with the long-term strategy of SIM Distribuidora and Grupo Argenta, which aim not only to increase the brand's presence, but also to contribute to the economic development of the regions in which they operate.
The strategy behind the partnership
The agreement between SIM Distribuidora and Petronas, signed in November 2023, establishes a business model based on brand licensing.
Petronas provides the brand and technology, while SIM Distribuidora takes care of the operation and growth of the stations. This collaboration is a strategic step for both, leveraging SIM Distribuidora's local expertise and Petronas' global strength.
