Petrobras and ANP reached an agreement on the Jubarte Field, ending a legal process that had lasted since 2016. The agreement provides for the payment of R$832,4 million relating to oil production in the field between 2009 and 2015. The amount will be paid in 49 installments and adjusted by the SELIC rate.
Petrobras announced a historic agreement with the National Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels Agency (ANP), aiming to end a long legal process related to the Jubarte Field. The agreement implies the significant payment of R$ 832,4 million in royalties and special participation, referring to the production of oil in the field, in the period between 2009 and 2015.
Historic agreement between Petrobras and ANP
The process began in 2016 and involved a detailed recalculation of government shares related to oil production in the Campos Basin.
The region, known for its strategic importance in oil exploration, was the scene of a dispute that could now end with the agreement signed between Petrobras and ANP.

The ANP identified significant discrepancies in the periods from August 2009 to February 2011, and from December 2012 to February 2015, totaling R$832,4 million to be adjusted.
The value, updated until December 2023, will be corrected until the date of the first payment.
The judicial process over Campo Jubarte
The agreement, which represents a milestone in the resolution of disputes in the sector oil, is pending approval at the 23rd Federal Court of the Judiciary Section of Rio de Janeiro.
According to the terms of the agreement, Petrobras will make an initial payment corresponding to 35% of the total value, followed by 48 remaining installments, all adjusted by the SELIC rate.
As stipulated, the first installment will be made 30 days after the agreement is approved, providing a smooth transition for both parties involved.
This outcome not only represents the end of a long-standing legal dispute, but also highlights Petrobras' willingness to collaborate in a transparent and effective manner with the sector's regulatory authorities.
The agreement contributes to stability and legal security in the Brazilian oil scene, strengthening trust between the parties involved.
