Petrobras qualifies ten groups in dispute for lease contracts for drillships, including Ocyan

Ocyan, a Brazilian oil and gas company, is the leader in the tender for the acquisition of drillships offered by Petrobras

The oil awaits, with great anticipation, the consequence of Petrobras' offer that analyzes the lease of up to eight drillships for drilling. The reading of the texts containing the lease proposal for the drillships is scheduled for June 28, after two postponements. Altogether, there are ten companies that are pre-qualified to compete for the leasing of drillships, the Ocyan, Ventura, Constellation, Stena, Seadrill, Transocean, Ensco, Etesco, NE Drilling e Brasdril.

The invitation to bid for the drillships offered by Petrobras is divided into three stages, which have deadlines for executing contracts ranging from 1.095 to 1.460 days. In the first stage, Petrobras plans to lease up to two high-specification dynamic positioning drillships with an operating volume in water depths of up to 3.000 meters, adjusted for the collection system to respond to subsea blowout.

In the second stage, Petrobras examines five more drillships with dynamic positioning and high characterization, capable of operating in water depths of up to 2.400 meters.

In the third and final stage, Petrobras plans to admit a dynamic positioning rig capable of operating in water depths of up to 2.400 meters. The expected date for the start of drillship services varies. For example, in the case of stage 3, the vessels may be able to operate between December 2022 and September 2023, with a movement period of 180 days.

As for stages 1 and 2, the desired period of time for the beginning of the activities of the ship-probe varies between January and November 2023. In the first two stages, the movement period will be 270 days.

Ocyan reaches new service maintenance contract

Ocyan, a Brazilian industry that operates in Petrobras' oil derivatives industry, signed a new contract to provide construction, assembly and maintenance services for replicant FPSO ships P-66, P-67, P-68, P-69 and P -70 for Petrobras. The term of the contract is four years, with a high probability of being postponed for another two years.

This new proposal will help Petrobras' offshore maintenance and services business to double its size and once again intensify its leadership position in this sector of the Brazilian market.

“We reached a level of expression within the offshore maintenance and services chain. To Ocyan, who have job openings available, has been developing and the results appear with the three contracts signed since the beginning of last year. Currently, Ocyan has an important representation with regard to market share in Brazil, with approximately 15% to 20% compared to high-level global contracts, especially when talking about the Santos Basin, where we will have a large presence”, highlights the director responsible for the Maintenance project, Vinicius Castilho.

Around the main actions foreseen in the contract signed by Ocyan, are the maintenance and repair services of the units, including: welding, painting, electrical and instrumentation, equipment maintenance, among others.

Ships where Ocyan will provide services have large production capacity

The five replicant FPSO ships operate in the Tupi, Berbigão and Atapu fields and the units where they are located have an individual production capacity of 150 bpd and the capacity to compress 6 million m³/day of gas.

“Ocyan's portfolio has increased significantly and with that it will generate more job opportunities, with approximately 2000 people by December 2022. focus on excellence and operational safety allied to our expertise”, says Castilho.

Also according to the director, Vinicius, Ocyan strives to execute well the contracts that already exist, two of which were obtained last year, and seeks to diversify customers, with a commercial agenda that includes players in foreign countries and other national and independent companies. .
