Petrobras refineries, Replan and Refap, together produced around 4600 barrels of diesel oil in July, breaking a production record

Both refineries, Replan and Refap, achieved the highest production of S10 diesel ever recorded in history

As refineries Paulínia, Replan and Alberto Pasqualini, Refap, both Petrobras refineries located, respectively, in the states of São Paulo and Rio Grande do Sul, cataloged important milestones in July 2022. The two refineries achieved the highest monthly production of S10 diesel in your stories.

Replan reached a total of 3.196 thousand barrels of S-10 diesel, while the previous milestone was in March 2022, with a production of 3.174 thousand barrels. Diesel S10 is a low-sulfur fuel that meets the most modern engine technologies in use in Brazil.

The Refap refinery also reached a new production record for S10 diesel oil in July. The refinery developed around 1.404 barrels, an increase over May production, which recorded 1.306 barrels. Both units also recorded S10 diesel sales records.

The strategy for Petrobras, Replan and Refap refineries is always to seek the most efficient use of them, observing the search for markets for each product and also the alternatives for supplying oil and its derivatives, such as Diesel. The performance of the refineries, Replan and Refap respects the safety, environment and quality requirements of derivatives, such as diesel, produced and with a focus on generating profit for Petrobras refineries.

Replan and Refap gasoline production

In the month of June, the refineries recorded a production of 535,9 thousand m³ of fuel, which means an increase of 9,3% over the 489,9 thousand m³ added to the sixth month of the previous year, Petrobras declared. Previously, the highest volume for the month had been accounted for in 2013, when it was 548,8 thousand m³.

Increased production at refineries, Replan and Refap, of diesel and other fuels may not be reflected in the price of inputs

According to the economist and professor at PUC-Campinas, Roberto Brito de Carvalho, the increase in production at the Replan and Refap refineries does not directly affect prices for final consumers of diesel, gasoline and others.

“The behavior of demand for diesel and gasoline is very controlled, so the tendency is to remain constant, except when there are changes in cost structures, as was the case with gasoline. When we had reductions in diesel and gasoline tax rates, such as the ICMS [Tax on Circulation of Goods and Services], this causes the possibility of change. If you don't have any changes, you don't have price fluctuations due to demand behavior. You do it by controlling supply or expanding inventories, or eventually increasing prices due to shortages due to supply.”

Lower gas prices at gas stations

The average price of gasoline at stations in Campinas it is R$ 5,59, which symbolizes the lowest value since the third week of August of the year 2021, when it was R$ 5,58, according to the National Agency of Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels (ANP). In relation to the previous week, then at R$ 5,68, the final value of gasoline and diesel represents a decrease of R$ 0,09, a drop of 1,58%.

At gas stations, gasoline is sold in the range of R$5,25 to R$5,99. The price drop also happened after São Paulo reduced the ICMS from 25% to 18%, on June 27, in order to comply with a federal law.
