On July 13, Petrobras development director João Henrique Rittershaussen gave an interview to epbr, talking about hiring an FPSO for a deep water project in the Sergipe-Alagoas Basin. The director points out that Petrobras has already launched a competition process for contracting the platform on the market and that the proposals should be received in 07.
In an interview, Rittershaussen stated that a bidding process was initiated for the Built Operate and Transfer (BOT) model, whereby the charterer operates the platform for some time and subsequently transfers it to Petrobras. The process aims at a unit of the type FPSO.
João Henrique says that the FPSO BOT for the deep water project in the Sergipe-Alagoas Basin is already on the road and that the companies are already working on the process. According to him, Petrobras should already receive a proposal next year. The BOT model is new for Petrobras, although the company had anticipated in February this year that it intended to work with this option for the deep waters of the Sergipe-Alagoas Basin. In the interview, Rittershaussen also pointed out that Petrobras has been working hard to reduce the time to deploy platforms, as well as to reduce construction time and increase the efficiency of the units.
