The new platform to be installed by Petrobras will contribute to the reduction of greenhouse gases
Petrobras, the Brazilian oil giant, is preparing a revolution in the energy sector by announcing the installation of the first platform with fully electrified (all-electric) combined cycle systems in Brazil, scheduled for 2025. This innovative technology aims not only to improve operational efficiency , but also significantly reduce greenhouse gas emissions, according to the website Época Negócios.
Confirmation of the installation date for this revolutionary platform, called FPSO Maria Quitéria, will take place in the Jubarte field, located in the pre-salt layer of the Campos basin. The news was disclosed by Eduarda Lacerda, general manager of Petrobras' Exploration and Production Business Unit in Espírito Santo.
New energy horizons
During the opening of the MEC Show 2023, the Metal Mechanics and Industrial Innovation Fair of Espírito Santo, Eduarda Lacerda also revealed other visionary Petrobras projects for the state. One of the notable initiatives is the study for the implementation of an offshore wind farm in the south coast of Espírito Santo.

This milestone reflects Petrobras' constant innovation and its search for advanced technological solutions.
Advanced robotics in industry
At the MEC Show 2023, the Petrobras stand will present an intriguing attraction: a circuit simulating an operational area for the demonstration of the “Anymal D” robot. This state-of-the-art robot specializes in security operations. With the ability to perform autonomous inspections in industrial environments of offshore platforms and refineries, the “Anymal D” has considerable potential to increase efficiency and safety in operations.
Its innovative design allows the robot to go up and down stairs, dodging obstacles and identifying nearby risks. Petrobras points out that this is the first robot of this format on the market, representing another step in the search for cutting-edge technologies.
Petrobras is paving the way for transformation in the Brazilian energy sector by announcing the creation of the first all-electric platform in 2025, in addition to its investments in clean energy, such as the offshore wind farm. With a rich and innovative history, the company reinforces its presence in Espírito Santo and demonstrates its commitment to cutting-edge technological solutions, such as the “Anymal D” robot.
