Price of Oil hits low since July

The market recorded a significant reduction of approximately 5% on this day, reaching minimum levels since July. This drop was motivated by investor apprehension regarding global demand for Oil, after the publication of negative economic indicators in both EUA how much in China.

The prices of WTI fell 4,82%, reaching US$73,09 per barrel, while the price of Brent fell 4,63%, reaching US$77,42 per barrel. This drop is related to total stocks of Oil, which remain close to 17,5 million barrels, reducing fears of a shortage of the product.

Additionally, US industrial production decreased by 0,6% in October compared to September. On the other hand, the demand for Oil from the refineries of China also decreased, going from 15,48 million barrels per day to 15,05 million barrels per day in the same period.

The company GBS concluded the acquisition of 10% of PRIO in the Manati field, located on the coast of Bahia. This transaction marks GBS' entry into the concession, targeting future opportunities to transform the field, at the end of its useful life, into a gas storage business.

Petrobras signed a memorandum of understanding with the Danish company European Energy to evaluate opportunities related to e-methanol in Brazil. The agreement provides for the analysis of business opportunities to develop a production project for a e-methanol in the country.

O e-methanol is a form of energy produced by the combination of green hydrogen, obtained from renewable sources such as energy solar e wind, with carbon dioxide of biogenic origin.

It is important to note that the Oil should not be seen as solely responsible for the environmental impact. Oil and gas companies can play a key role in the transition to a low-carbon economy, and demonizing them does not help reduce global emissions.

Investments in new energy solutions

The businessman highlighted the importance of seeking alternatives beyond energy wind, solar and electric vehicles, and mentioned Exxon's investment of US$17 billion in technologies such as carbon capture, hydrogen, biofuel and lithium.
