The director-president of Companhia Docas do Rio de Janeiro (CDRJ), Francisco Antonio de Magalhães Laranjeira, informed that he is establishing the projects in the Port of Rio de Janeiro in some fundamental points.

One can cite actions such as the improvement of waterway access, with new nautical signaling to allow night navigation; land access, which includes Avenida Portuária; improving port security with investments in technology; improving management; and new leases for general cargo, liquid bulk and offshore activity.

According to the president, the Port of Rio de Janeiro will develop as the municipality deserves: “In improving waterway access, we are in partnership with the leasing companies and aligned with the Brazilian Navy. We are also working hard to get Table 1 back to Companhia Docas do Rio de Janeiro so that we can invest in infrastructure works such as dredging. In my strategic vision, Docas has to prepare itself to be ahead of the problems and receive the big ships and we intend to make the company as efficient as possible.”

The executive secretary of the Ministry of Infrastructure (MInfra), Marcelo Sampaio, highlighted that strategic planning is necessary for the modernization of port infrastructure and to leverage the competitiveness of the Port of Rio de Janeiro, reflecting on a dynamic closer to private investments .
