Average gasoline prices in the Southeast reaches R$ 6,952 and does not give relief to the consumer's pocket. According to the latest survey by the Ticket Log Price Index (IPTL), referring to the first half of February, the Southeast region had the biggest price drop in the entire national territory for ethanol.
A liter of fuel recorded a drop of 2,79% and started to cost R$ 5,501 in February, the second lowest average price in Brazil, behind only the Midwest. But not everything is rosy, and even in stability with the drop of 0,03%, the price of gasoline in the region closed at R$ 6,952, again the highest average price in the country.

Last month, Rio de Janeiro had the highest average price for gasoline in the entire national territory, with values that reached R$ 7,257, in addition to leading the Southeast with the highest price of ethanol
Still on the national analysis, São Paulo stood out in the period with the lowest average for ethanol and also with the biggest decrease in the price of fuel (5,04%), going from R$ 4,942 to R$ 4,693. In the comparison between the four states of the Southeast, São Paulo closed the first days of February with the lowest averages for the other fuels. The liter of gasoline in the State dropped 0,06% and went from R$ 6,428 in January to R$ 6,424 in February. Regular diesel increased 1,84% and S-10, 1,49%, and closed the period with averages of R$ 5,585 and R$ 5,668, respectively.
As in the past month, Rio de Janeiro had the highest average price for gasoline in the entire national territory, with values that reached up to R$ 7,257, a decrease of 0,23%. In addition to closing with the highest average price for gasoline nationwide, Rio de Janeiro also led the highest averages in the Southeast for gasoline and ethanol. Down 2,07%, ethanol at Rio de Janeiro stations closed at R$ 6,098.
Minas Gerais stood out in the survey with the highest averages for the liter of common diesel, which closed at R$ 5,759, an increase of 1,46% in relation to January; and for the S-10, which closed at R$5,841, up 1,85%.

According to the 70/30 ratio, ethanol is the most economical option for fueling in São Paulo and Minas Gerais. Gasoline is more advantageous for drivers in Rio de Janeiro and Espírito Santo.
