Soon, the Gold Star, Lone Star and Alpha Star submersibles will also join the Laguna Star in the fleet of units that will provide services to Petrobras

Constellation has just announced that its drillship Laguna Star has started its operations for Petrobras. The announcement was made through the company's official news vehicle, this Tuesday afternoon, November 5th. Brazil attracts 93% of global income from oil rounds.

The start-up of the Laguna Star drillship was scheduled for mid-October and according to Bassoe Analytics, the daily rate on the contract is around $155.000.

The 6th generation drillship was designed to operate in water depths of up to 10.000 feet, typical of the pre-salt layer, with a drilling depth capacity of up to 40.000 feet and will be deployed in Petrobras' block BM-S-11 in Santos Basin.

The rig was under contract with Enauta – formerly known as QGEP – in the Atlanta field, also in the Santos basin.

“It is with great satisfaction that we announce that our drillship Laguna Star has started its operations for Petrobras. This moment marks the resumption of our operations for one of the largest ultra-deep water operators in the world.” I told company in an official statement.

The company said it was very happy to contribute, once again, with Petrobras, a partner of many years and that wishes everyone a good and safe return to operations at Laguna Star.

“Soon, our Gold Star, Lone Star and Alpha Star semi-submersibles will also join the Laguna Star in the fleet of units that will provide services to this very important customer,” concluded the company, which in October announced the reactivation of the Gold Star Sonde to serve contracts with Petrobras scheduled for the beginning of next year.
