Due to the current scenario caused by the coronavirus, many companies have adopted remote work, called home office, for their employees. Such a measure, for many of them, becomes effective in fulfilling projects, works, which cannot be done in person. A study by André Miceli, a professor at the Getúlio Vargas Foundation (FGV) says that remote work is expected to grow by 30% after the coronavirus crisis.

For André, the emergency adoption of the home office by companies should cause a change in organizational cultures and that the modality is a path of no return. Executive Director of Infobase and coordinator of the MBA in Marketing and Digital Business Intelligence at FGV, Miceli says that in a moment of instability like the present one, it is necessary to be flexible with corporate structures and models.

“The home office has already proved to be effective. Allied to this, you take cars off the street, relieve public transport, mobilize the economy in a different way. And you make people have more time to take care of their health and that they can enjoy things that give them pleasure without you having a reduction in deliveries and billing, "he said.

André points out that communication must be centralized in specific channels so that clear instructions on procedures remain in the routine of employees, customers and consumers. “The adoption of agile methodologies also allows for a faster response to new day-to-day challenges. The analysis, reorganization and decision-making process needs to keep up with the pace of change,” said André.
