Koenigsegg has launched Quark, a lightweight and powerful electric motor, for its Gemera supercar. Quark surpasses conventional engines in power, torque and efficiency. It can also be used in vertical takeoff and landing aircraft.

Koenigsegg is introducing the Quark, a new electric motor for the Gemera, its latest supercar, to the automotive market. Weighing just 28,5 kg, the Quark offers a power of 340 hp and a torque of 61,2 kgfm, surpassing conventional engines. Furthermore, its lightweight construction features materials such as aerospace steel and carbon fiber and contributes to a powertrain of 680 hp and 112,1 kgfm in the sporting car Moans. Despite the few details released, this promises to be the future of the company's electric motors.

Koenigsegg revolutionizes the automotive market with Quark, the lightest and most powerful electric motor in the world

The search for technological advances in the global automotive industry has led Koenigsegg, a Swedish car company, supercars, to launch Quark, its new electric engine that promises to change power and efficiency standards.

Launched to be part of the Gemera sports car, the Quark is the brand's bet to stand out in the electric vehicle segment.

The electric motor weighs just 28,5 kg and offers a power of 340 hp, in addition to a torque of 61,2 kgfm. These numbers put Quark ahead of many conventional electric motors, surprising the automotive sector. 

With just 25% of the weight of a conventional 1.0 engine, the Quark is a Koenigsegg innovation in engineering, using materials such as aerospace steel and carbon fiber in its construction.

Although it is light, the electric motor also guarantees good performance for the Gemera, which will be equipped with two Quark units, forming a powertrain of 680 hp and 112,1 kgfm.

Visually, Quark is compact, resembling a clutch plate and being slightly larger than a 330 ml can.

The model is Koenigsegg's new bet to compete in the fastest car market in the world.

The benefits of the Quark electric motor go beyond the streets, as Koenigsegg highlights that it can be used for various applications, thanks to its direct drive and lack of need for transmission.

This characteristic allows its use in vertical takeoff and landing aircraft, such as helicopters and drones.

No sporting car Gemera, the Quark will perform at sprints and low speeds, contributing to the model's overall performance.

Furthermore, its peak power and torque, although limited to 20 seconds, offers great acceleration. After this period, the numbers are 136 hp and 25,4 kgfm.

Although further details about the Gemera and Quark have not been revealed to the market, Koenigsegg is planning large investments for its new electric engine.
