Nidec Global Appliance (formerly Embraco) announced investments for a new production line at its plant in Itaiópolis, Santa Catarina. In all, around R$ 10 million will be invested in the company's factory, which could increase the unit's capacity by 25%. Many jobs are foreseen with the investments.

Investments in the new manufacturing line in Itaiópolis, Santa Catarina
Investments made by the multinational in the north of the state of Santa Catarina will be used to implement a new condensing unit, sealing unit and component production line, which will increase the unit's total production capacity by 25%, generating more of 100 new jobs.
At the factory, located in the north of the state of Santa Catarina, the production of condensing devices and sealing devices – complete refrigeration systems, including compressors, condensers, expansion devices, evaporators and refrigerant feed – are ready to be installed in commercial refrigeration.

New factory job opportunities
The deployment will require the construction of a new 700 square meter warehouse in the state of Santa Catarina to provide additional storage areas and allow adjustments to the internal layout of the new production line. The land regularization works were completed and the shed assembly work began in May, which could generate more than 100 new direct job opportunities.
The refrigeration solutions produced by the factory mainly serve the Brazilian market, but also Latin America, North America, Europe and Asia.
Nidec had announced funding for a new production line in Joinville
A Nidec previously announced an investment in the implementation of a new production line, with an annual production capacity of 2,5 million compressors. The company's new project will receive investments of R$ 100 million with the launch of the new production line scheduled for the second half of this year. 200 new jobs are expected in Joinville, in Santa Catarina.
With the new production line, the unit's capacity in Santa Catarina will increase by 17%. Currently, the production capacity of the Joinville plant is around 17 million compressors annually, and will increase to 20 million.
The company's new investments will also result in new job opportunities. Joinville has the largest compressor factory of Nidec Global Appliance, derived from the Embraco brand. Despite the new contribution, the company had already invested around BRL 200 million in three subsidiaries in the state of Santa Catarina, since 2019.
