Last Wednesday, June 23, protocols of intent were signed at the Economic Development Secretariat of the state of Bahia, to receive investments of up to R$ 3,7 billion and generate 3,9 thousand jobs with the following projects: wind energy , electronics factory and mattress industry. Generation of jobs in the interior of the state of Bahia
The company Casa dos Ventos is expected to invest more than R$ 3,7 billion in Antônio Gonçalves, São Gabriel and Mirangaba to install wind power plants for generating electricity. In total, the plants will have an estimated installed capacity of up to 4.098 Gigawatt-hours (GWh) per year. During the construction phase, 3,8 new jobs will be created. Already in the operation phase, 23 direct jobs will be generated.
In addition to Casa dos Ventos, Statkraft and Ventos de São Vitorino, renewable energy companies, signed protocols to invest almost R$ 1 billion in wind power plants in Brotas de Macaúbas, Uibaí and Ibipeba, in Bahia. With an investment of R$ 975 million, wind power plants should be installed in the municipalities of Brotas de Macaúbas, by Statkraft, and Uibaí and Ibipeba by São Vitorino, in Bahia.

During the construction phase of the wind power plants, 330 new direct job openings and another 100 indirect ones are foreseen. During the operations of the renewable energy complex, it is expected to generate four jobs directly and another eight indirectly.
Other companies that will invest in the state
In Feira de Santana, R$ 15 million in private investment will be earmarked for the installation of Indústria Ameko, which will manufacture computers, monitors, processors, keyboards and mice. Mattress Industries will invest in the production of bedding, mattresses and upholstery. The companies must generate 400 direct and indirect jobs during the installation of the units in Bahia.
In Cruz das Almas, the Cruzalmense Upholstery and Mattress industry will install an industrial unit to manufacture foam mattresses, wooden mattresses, spring mattresses, box mattresses and upholstery, with investments of up to R$ 2 million. The production capacity of the industry in the state of Bahia will be up to 75,3 thousand units per year.

The government of the state of Bahia signed a protocol of intentions with Usina São Francisco, to install the third sugar and alcohol plant in the Agroindustrial and Bioenergetic Pole of the Middle São Francisco. The new enterprise will be destined to the production of anhydrous and hydrated ethanol, animal feed and electricity. Initial investments in the new plant could reach R$ 400 million and the expectation is that 8.000 jobs will be generated in the state of Bahia.
Pedro Leite, director of the plant, says that they were happy to participate in this initiative of the government of Bahia, of the Bioenergetic Pole in the middle São Francisco, a region with a wonderful potential from the point of view of bioenergy, the zero carbon agenda, the equalization of emissions greenhouse gas, which plays a leading role in the state's energy matrix. Leite also says that they are very confident in immediately starting operations and being able to contribute to the development of the state of Bahia, with the generation of income and jobs.
