Wednesday was marked by a record in transactions made via PIX. According to information from the Central Bank, on the aforementioned day, more than 170 million were registered. This was the second time that the mark was surpassed in 24 hours.
According to the institution, throughout Wednesday, 178,686 million transfers were made via Pix to end users. As explained by the Central Bank, despite this high demand, the functioning of the PIX was not affected, and the systems operated with stability throughout the day.
As mentioned, this was the second time that the PIX recorded more than 170 million transactions. The previous record was December 20, 2023. At that time, the number of transactions during the day was 178,091.

Revolutionary payment method
Created in 2020, the tool is considered a revolution in the way transactions are carried out in Brazil. Proof of this is that, since November of the year mentioned, when PIX was implemented, this payment method has become widely used, providing ease and agility in transactions between individuals and legal entities.
Figures from the Central Bank show that, at the end of February, PIX had 160,83 million users. Of this total number, 146,95 million were individuals and 13,88 million were legal entities. In January, according to the most recent data, the payment method surpassed the mark of R$1,82 trillion handled per month.
