Rio Oil & Gas 2022: nuclear sector is present at the event

Nuclear energy production chain will be represented and will be one of the outstanding cases

Between the 26th and 29th of September, Rio de Janeiro will once again receive a global agenda of events in the oil and gas sector. A Rio Oil & Gas Fair will take place on the Olympic Boulevard and Sebrae Rio will have a space called Polo Sebrae Offshore, with 20 service points, where micro and small companies will be able to present goods, services and equipment to the main players in the oil and gas sector.

Sebrae partners will also be present at ABDAN (Brazilian Association for the Development of Nuclear Activities) and Electronuclear, representing the energy sector and nuclear activities. Currently, the country has the 7th largest uranium reserve in the world and has signaled the construction of 8 to 10 new plants by 2050. “We at ABDAN represent companies in the production chains that use nuclear technology, we work to strengthen the business environment and competitive conditions in the domestic market and internationally. Therefore, participation in the event is extremely important for us to be able to promote the development and application of nuclear technology in Brazil”, comments Celso Cunha, president of ABDAN.

PROGRAMME

Sebrae will also promote Demoday, followed by an Investment Round. In the first activity, entrepreneurs will present their technological solutions or products, in pitch format, to investors and large companies in the sector. Next, startups will have the opportunity to talk to investors, individually, with the aim of raising funds or financing for the development of micro and small companies.

From the 27th to the 29th, in collaboration with ONIP, and with the support of Firjan and Senai, business roundtables will be held with the participation of 30 large anchor companies, 186 suppliers, in 745 meetings, with an expectation of around R$ 280 million for the next 12 months.

Still in the space of the Business Roundtable, on the first day of the event, Sebrae will carry out the first action to publicize startups in the oil, gas and energy sector. In all, 21 companies that develop new technologies will present business plans to more than 15 investors to make the project viable or scale up.

“An event of this size will generate business opportunities in the energy sector value chain. In previous editions of Rio Oil & Gas, we opened the doors for micro and small companies to establish a rich exchange of information, knowledge and promoting networking with large companies in the sector”, explains Sergio Malta, Director of Development at Sebrae Rio.

“This year we will also have the 'Polo Sebrae Offshore', which is a structured initiative of excellence in the offshore oil and gas value chain, with a national scope, sharing intelligence and new ways of operating in the sector, generating knowledge and adding value. to small Brazilian businesses”, complements Sergio.
