SBM Offshore is moving forward with the design of the FPSOs Sepetiba, Almirante Tamandarรฉ and Alexandre de Gusmรฃo. The company announced its half-yearly report, which highlights the installation of modules on platforms ordered by Petrobras.

This Thursday, (10/08), the giant company in the offshore sector, SBM Offshore, announced notable advances in the implementation of modules for three new FPSOs ordered by Petrobras. The financial and operational report for the first half of this year highlights progress in projects Sepetiba, Admiral Tamandarรฉ and Alexandre de Gusmรฃo. These developments promise to have a positive impact on the exploration of energy resources in the Brazilian oil and natural gas market.

SBM Offshore advances in the development of the three new FPSOs ordered by Petrobras

The Dutch company SBM Offshore recently released its financial and operational balance sheet for the first half of this year.

Among the most notable highlights of this report are the significant advances in the works of three FPSOs ordered by the oil giant Petrobras.

The projects in question โ€“ Sepetiba, Almirante Tamandarรฉ and Alexandre de Gusmรฃo โ€“ are reaching important milestones in the installation of modules, signaling continued progress.

The company has become a highlight in operational efficiency regarding the development of projects commissioned by the state-owned oil company.

With regard to FPSO Sepetiba, the vessel has already left the Chinese shipyards for Brazil, as announced in June.

Now, SBM Offshore celebrates the successful completion of the topsides integration phase and the onshore commissioning campaign.

The capacity of this unit is remarkable, with the possibility of producing up to 180 barrels of oil daily, in addition to storing 1,4 million barrels.

The company also points out that the first oil extraction in the Mero field should take place by the end of this year, according to the schedule in progress with Petrobras.

The FPSO Almirante Tamandarรฉ project is also progressing as planned, with the survey campaign for the topsides modules and their subsequent integration progressing remarkably.

The expected delivery of this unit is scheduled for 2024, with the first oil production in the field scheduled for early 2025.

According to the SBM Offshore report, the platform's impressive daily processing capacity is 225 barrels of oil and 12 million mยณ of natural gas.

This reinforces its vital role in pre-salt exploration in the Santos Basin after the start of its operations.

SBM Offshore announces start of decommissioning of FPSO Capixaba in its report

In addition to the two FPSOs mentioned above, SBM Offshore has also been advancing on the Alexandre de Gusmรฃo FPSO project.

Manufacturing modules for the platform is an ongoing process, with an emphasis on international collaboration.

Part of these components is being produced in Brazil, at the EBR shipyard, and gradually delivered for integration at the Chinese shipyard.

Simultaneously, another portion of the modules is built in China, maintaining steady progress.

The expectation of SBM Offshore and Petrobras is that the unit will be operational by 2025, bringing with it the impressive capacity to process 180 thousand barrels of oil and 12 million mยณ of gas daily.

In addition to the new achievements, SBM Offshore also marked the beginning of the decommissioning phase of the FPSO Capixaba, which had its production paralyzed in 2022.

In May 2023, the contract for sustainable recycling and compliance with European regulations was awarded to MARS (Modern American Recycling Services Europe), with activities planned at an eco-friendly recycling facility in Denmark.

In this way, the company not only focuses on its module installation projects for Petrobras' FPSOs, but also advances in other parallel ventures.
