The more than 10 tons of fertilizers that arrived at the Port of Pecém through the Papa John ship disembarking at the complex will be essential for heating up the economy of the state of Ceará amid the instabilities of the international market.

Last Sunday (10/07), the ship Papa John carried out a disembarkation operation at Port of Pecem, located in the state of Ceará, arriving from Chinese waters with more than 10 thousand tons of fertilizers. In this way, the docking of the vessel in the Ceará complex will contribute not only to the profitability of the port authority, but also to a boost to the economy of the entire state of Ceará.

Porto do Pecém receives Papa John vessel in unloading operation with more than 10 thousand tons of fertilizers to warm up Ceará market

The Port of Pecém carried out a major operation this past Sunday for the market in Ceará, with the disembarkation of the ship Papa John, coming from China with more than 10 thousand tons of fertilizers for sale in the country. The goods arrived at the Ceará complex in big bags, that is, packages used to transport solid or pasty materials that are used in the agricultural, chemical, mineral extraction, and construction industries, and guarantee more safety in transport.

The landing of the ship marked a major operation for the economy of the state of Ceará, as commented by the commercial manager of Tecer Terminais, a company that operates as an operational service provider in the Port of Pecém and develops solutions in integrated logistics, Carlos Alberto Nunes.

The executive pointed out that this type of operation guarantees the economic movement not only of the port complex, but also of the entire state of Ceará, which will benefit from outsourced services to the port.

In addition, Carlos Alberto Nunes highlighted the importance of the arrival of fertilizers in the national territory in a scenario of instability in the international market for export and import of these products.

The geopolitical conflicts between Russia and Ukraine have been creating serious problems regarding trade relations between entire countries and have caused a real crisis in the supply of fertilizers in Brazil. Now, the country is once again receiving the arrival of these products and is gradually stabilizing in terms of demand for this type of product, which is essential for the agricultural sector.

Disembarkation of the ship in the Port of Pecém reaffirms the openness of the international economy for the commercialization of products

After the start of geopolitical conflicts between Russia and Ukraine, ports around the world experienced commercial closures, causing a strong impact on fertilizer imports. In addition, China went through a long period of complex lockdowns and huge queues for operations, but the landing of the Papa John ship in the Port of Pecém marked an opening and flexibility of the international economy.

Thus, Carlos Alberto Nunes highlighted: “The arrival of this new cargo is a great cause for celebration, as the long lines of ships in the main ports of China, caused by the lockdowns, have been impacting the supply of containers and putting pressure on maritime freight costs. As a result, importers and exporters have been looking for alternatives with the use of the “break bulk” segment (general cargo), whose transport is done individually, in fractional loads packed on board ships, without the need to use containers”.

The executive concluded that he has been working hard over the last three years to boost the entry of goods into Brazil from the Chinese market and that, with the disembarkation of the ship in the port of Ceará, he can see a more favorable future in terms of this relationship. In this way, the unloading operation ensured not only benefits for the economy, but also a new perspective for future growth.
