In total, 11 memorandums have already been signed, all aimed at green hydrogen projects in Ceará, which will be produced from sustainable energy. According to Maia Júnior, Secretary of Economic Development of Ceará, the water used to guarantee the operation of the projects, in which Siemens, Total and Mitsui are interested, will come from desalination and he also stated that, given the large volume of investments projected for the green hydrogen plants, what will be invested in desalination plants will be very small.

Green hydrogen produced in Ceará will be transferred to Europe
In the Secretary's opinion, the marriage of the Port of Rotterdam and the Port of Pecém, in 2017, was the gateway that allowed the construction of the Green Hydrogen Hub in Ceará and also highlights that the largest port in Europe will be the recipient of the green hydrogen that will be produced in Ceará.
Maia points out that, now, several countries are moving towards the production of the energy of the future, which is green hydrogen, but in an environmentally sustainable way, using renewable energies in its production, such as wind and solar energy, which are privileged sources in Ceará for the creation of the H2V Hub, which is supported by Siemens, Total and Mitsui.
Government of Ceará already plans investments in infrastructure
To accommodate large companies such as Siemens, Total and Mitsui, Ceará will have to make more investments in infrastructure, which is already on the way, said Maia Júnior. This Wednesday (3), there will be a meeting in Rotterdam, with Shell directors who requested an agenda with the secretary of state.
Shell's request came through Duna Uribe, Director of Operations at CIPP S/A, the administrator of Complexo do Pecém, representing the Dutch partner Porto de Rotterdam.
