A reference in the national solar energy market, the company NeoSolar 2023 begins with many reasons to celebrate: the year 2022 ended with a 50% growth compared to 2021, revenue made possible thanks to the increase in revenues of all business units and the 40% increase in the number of employees.

The results were obtained even in a challenging year for the sector, which faced difficulties such as periods of lockdown in China, the war in ukraine, truck drivers and port strikes, the global container crisis and other logistical obstacles. On the other hand, despite these factors, NeoSolar managed to take advantage of some positive trends for the market, such as the greater demand for Distributed Generation (DG) systems after the approval of the Legal Framework and the growing interest of the Brazilian population in solar energy.

“The Energy Transition is already a reality in Brazil, bringing new ways of generating and consuming energy. Today we see the population increasingly aware of this, knowing that solar energy is not only a cleaner way of generating energy, but also very advantageous for reducing costs in the light bill or even capable of bringing electricity in a practical way to previously isolated regions, comments Raphael Pintão, founding partner of NeoSolar.

Increased portfolio and special projects

Consolidated for twelve years as one of the main players in the Brazilian solar energy market, NeoSolar expanded its portfolio in 2022 to meet the various demands of the Brazilian consumer, including investments in technologies such as lithium batteries, hybrid inverters, microinverters and solar pumps – sought after especially by the agro sector as a solution for periods of drought.

“In 2022, NeoSolar managed to expand its portfolio in the different segments in which it operates, in addition to opening a new distribution center in Extrema (MG), which increased our capacity to offer the best purchasing conditions throughout the national territory. Thus, we ended 2022 reinforcing our position as market leaders in the Off Grid and, increasingly, we are also a reference in the Distributed Generation, Electric Vehicle Recharging and Energy Storage (Storage) markets”, resume.

In addition to distributing products to different types of consumers, NeoSolar also had its revenue boosted by Special Projects in 2022, with participation in the “Light for All” and “More Light for the Amazon” programs. Pedro Pintão, another founding partner of the company, points out that participating in these initiatives was fundamental not only for the business, but also from a socio-environmental point of view.

“We are part of important projects in partnership with different energy concessionaires, created with the aim of bringing electricity to the population in remote places, especially in the north of the country. It should be noted that NeoSolar's participation in these programs is not only due to its leadership in the Off Grid market, but also to the customized solutions we develop and, mainly, to our technical knowledge and experience in this type of project”, is proud.

Solar energy company growth trend to 2023

One of the factors that contributed to NeoSolar's success in 2022, the arrival of new products to the Brazilian market, especially inverters, lithium batteries, solar pumps and electric vehicle chargers, will continue to be the company's focus.

“The goal is always to serve our customers in the best possible way in each business unit, each with its own demands and particularities. Working in different markets requires this ability to look at each one of them differently and seek the best solutions and trends. This is in our DNA, getting ahead and developing new markets.” points out Raphael.

Pedro points out that the expectation for 2023 is to maintain the growth pace of 2022 – the year in which the company grew 50% considering all business units –, however, he makes a reservation about the beginning of the year, which tends to be slower due to account of the slowdown in the country's economy. "What excites us is that our sector is always growing much faster than the economy as a whole."

Investments in the electric vehicle sector

NeoCharge, NeoSolar's business unit specializing in charging solutions for electric vehicles, underwent important transformations in 2022, with the arrival of the new CEO, Diogo Seixas, and CCO, Rodrigo Carrau. NeoCharge recorded a 100% increase in sales, entered into new contracts with automakers and participated in leading events for the electric mobility sector, such as the Latin American Electric Vehicle (Vela), held in September in São Paulo.
