“Fuel of the future” is already highlighted on the world stage and could bring more shine to Brazil with solar energy

And let's go ahead because rocket has no reverse! Hydrogen is one of the main fuels to take rockets into space and is gaining even more space on the world stage. After all, green hydrogen, the “fuel of the future” produced from solar energy and wind, is a renewable source of energy. In addition, it is winning attractive prices, competitive with those of gasoline, which will stimulate the energy transition.

As such, many experts are pointing to green hydrogen as the world's next fuel. That is, they project that this could become the main source of energy for society. You know what's more interesting? This fuel generates up to 3 times more energy than other types of fossil fuels, in addition to not polluting the environment. Understand how solar energy will expand this market.

Green Hydrogen is obtained from solar energy and can expand the national market due to the installed power

Green hydrogen is obtained from a process known as electrolysis. In other words, the process separates hydrogen from oxygen using water and electricity. That way, you can have immense energy production without having to burn any kind of fossil fuel. In addition, hydrogen has competitive costs compared to gasoline, which is very attractive.

Our country has immense reservoirs to store produced energy and also has an installed capacity of 20.250 MW in solar energy. That means we have what it takes to become one of the biggest names in the world as producers of green hydrogen. Therefore, we will be able to expand exports and prosper with economic development.

Low cost of green hydrogen can stimulate production and export in the world, due to the great energy potential

The low cost of green hydrogen, or the “fuel of the future”, is a point that draws a lot of attention from investors and the countries. Currently, experts point out that the production cost will be between US$1,20 and US$1,40/kg by 2030.

Therefore, we can have a renewable source of energy that will stimulate the energy transition. After all, the production and distribution values end up being competitive with the prices charged today for selling gasoline. In other words, we will have a new fuel that does not pollute, but which has a price as favorable or more favorable than that of gasoline.

Production is still on a small scale, but should reach interesting levels in the next 5 years, point out specialists from STI Norland

Green hydrogen holds great promise, but it is still produced on a small scale. However, some experts, including the technical team at STI Norland, one of the largest producers of trackers for solar energy, point out that in 5 years we will see a lot of progress. This progress will be driven by the constant interest in energy transition the world.

“The idea of replacing fossil fuels with Green Hydrogen is, in fact, a promising bet. We have observed a special attention on the subject worldwide and, consequently, an opening of the market for investments in this sense. Brazil already has an advantage due to the high generation of energy from renewable energies, with emphasis on the solar array, which is in full expansion and reaching ever higher levels in energy generation”.

Javier Reclusa, CEO of STI Norland (2022)

In other words, what we have for the coming years is optimism of being one of the main exporters of green hydrogen in the world.
