Multinational Ford highlighted that, to contain the price of the Mustang Mach-E battery, which cost the price of the vehicle, it already has investments and partnerships with companies in the sector
When the Ford Fusion Hybrid reached the Brazilian market, bringing hybrid propulsion to the domestic market, the price of its batteries drew attention. Since then, the price of lithium-ion batteries has been a “permanent” comment on news about electric and hybrid cars. It was recently published on the website Reddit by a Ford Mustang Mach-E owner, that his electric car batteries at dealerships cost the same price as the vehicle itself. The electric car's batteries cost around R$237.475, the value of the entry-level Select model.

Ford says it is seeking to lower the price of the component for the electric car
The price quoted above was found in Canada. The website Carscoops consulted a dealership in the United States, in the state of Florida, and found the batteries costing BRL 103.149 for the smaller set and BRL 131.757 for the batteries of the most expensive versions for the Mustang Mach-E.
These prices come close to those of the entry-level version of the Maverick pickup. The multinational Ford has already announced a partnership with a company focused on recycling batteries in order to reduce component costs and reduce the environmental impact during disposal.

Mustang Mach-E has 610 km of range
Already launched in Europe and the US, the Ford Mustang Mach-E electric car is scheduled to arrive in national territory next year. The multinational's new electric car has several technologies and can detect the driver's smartphone by proximity to unlock the doors.
The model will not have door handles, but a button that goes on the glass frame. Inside, the Ford Mustang Mach-E has a 15,5-inch multimedia center that operates almost the entire vehicle. There's also a 10,2-inch screen behind the steering wheel, which can change appearance depending on which mode the driver chooses.
The electric car is sold in two versions, one with a 68 kWh battery and the other with 88,8 kWh, with ranges of 440 and 610 km, respectively. Depending on the version, the model can deliver 269 or 294 horsepower.
Toyota switches to nickel-metal hydride batteries
Going in a different direction, the multinational Toyota uses a diversified strategy for its hybrids. The Japanese automaker, unlike Ford, uses nickel-metal hydride batteries, which are more durable compared to lithium-ion batteries.
Toyota prepares solid-state batteries for its all-electric cars, cleaner technology to generate and dispose of, in addition to being lighter and allowing faster charging.
Lithium-ion batteries, like those equipped in electric cars like the Mustang Mach-E, are considered just a transition. The projection is that by 2026 new battery technologies will appear with a lower price and other advantages.
