Norway's Solstad Offshore has signed a contract with Queiroz Galvão Exploração e Produção SA (QGEP) for one of its construction support vessels. The company has also signed two extensions for vessels working in Brazil with Equinor.
Solstad Offshore said on Monday that QGEP had hired Normand Pioneer CSV to work in Brazil. The 19-year-old CSV has been handed a two-year firm contract with two annual options. The contract will start in the first quarter of 2019 and will support production at the Atlanta Field in the Santos Basin.
According to Solstad Offshore, the Normand Pioneer will replace the AHTS Far Sagaris, which is currently working in the field. The vessel's contract expires in the first quarter of 2019.
It is worth recalling that Solstad Offshore, under the name Solstad Farstad, earlier this year signed an extension with TechnipFMC to a framework agreement covering the supply of vessels for plowing and excavation operations. The framework agreement, valid until December next year, also includes the Normand Pioneer.

Extension of Far Scotsman and Far Serenade
In addition, Solstad Offshore said on Monday it had won two six-month extensions for PSV Far Scotsman and Far Serenade from Norwegian oil giant Equinor. The ships will continue to support Equinor's activities in Brazil. The previous extension for both ships was three months, which were due to end in December 2018. The 2012-built Far Scotsman and eight-year-old Far Serenade won their initial six-month contract in November 2017.
