ABOUT GNA AÇÚ
GNA – Gás Natural Açu – is a joint venture formed by Prumo Logística, BP and Siemens dedicated to the development, implementation and operation of structuring and sustainable energy and gas projects.
Once ready, it will be the largest natural gas thermoelectric park in Latin America, located in Porto do Açu, one of the main port complexes in Brazil, which offers a series of logistical solutions for the Brazilian oil and gas market.
The project, in its current phase, comprises the implementation of two thermoelectric plants powered by natural gas (GNA I and GNA II), with the capacity to generate 3 GW of firm energy for Brazil. Together, the two thermal plants will generate enough energy to supply around 14 million homes. In addition, the project includes the implementation of a 21 MM m³/d LNG regasification terminal.
In a second phase, GNA plans to expand its thermoelectric park, in addition to creating the necessary boundary conditions for attracting and monetizing offshore domestic gas.
GNA is strongly committed to Sustainability. All of the company's actions are based on ethics, socio-environmental responsibility, safety and local development. During the construction phase of the two thermoelectric plants, approximately 4,5 direct jobs and around 10 indirect jobs will be generated, prioritizing local labor.
By generating jobs, boosting the economy and following high international sustainability standards, GNA contributes to the expansion of the gas and energy market and to the economic development not only of the North Fluminense region, but of the State of Rio de Janeiro and the entire the country.
