Through the AVAMEC platform, MEC launched 10 thousand vacancies for two distance extension courses: Mathematics I and Mathematics II.
This is the perfect chance for education professionals and Mathematics enthusiasts to improve their knowledge and improve the quality of teaching in Brazilian public schools.
Courses Offered by MEC
Mathematics I: With a workload of 60 hours, the course is divided into nine mini-courses that cover everything from basic concepts to more advanced topics. The themes are:

- Operations with Natural Numbers
- Operations with Integers
- Operations with Rational/Fractional Numbers
- Operations with Rational/Decimal Numbers
- Potentiation and Radiciation
- Expressions
- Equations
- Tasks
Students must participate in interactive activities and complete final assessments in each module, requiring at least 70% to obtain the certificate.
Mathematics II: Also lasting 60 hours, this course is divided into three mini-courses that cover more advanced topics:
- The Study of Functions
- Functions and their Derivatives
- Primitive Functions
Although it does not issue a certificate, participants receive a declaration of 60 hours of study detailing the content covered.

The courses are aimed at professionals who wish to improve their mathematical skills and use them as tools for expressing the material and imaginary world. They are ideal for those looking to expand and share knowledge in the academic environment.

After registering, participants have up to 120 days to complete the courses.
Certification and Declaration
Students who complete the Mathematics I course can download their certificate in the “Certificate” option on the platform.
For the Mathematics II course, the declaration of participation will be available in “My documents”, in the top bar of the system.
