Agreement includes acquisition, fabrication, installation and pre-commissioning of 102 km of rigid risers and flow lines for the steel wave production system

A subsea7, a global leader in delivering offshore projects and technology for the energy sector, announced a new contract with Petrobras, valued at more than US$1,25 billion. The contract aims to develop the Búzios 9 field, located approximately 180 kilometers off the coast of the state of Rio de Janeiro, at a depth of 2 thousand meters, in the pre-salt of the Santos basin.

Strengthening Partnership and Portfolio Expansion

“The agreement for Búzios 9 strengthens our portfolio of projects in Brazil and ratifies our position with Petrobras. We look forward to working together once again to deliver another project,” said Yann Cottart, vice-president of Subsea7 Region Brazil, in a statement.

Schedule and Place of Execution

According to Subsea7, project management and engineering work will begin immediately at the company's units in Rio de Janeiro and Paris. The manufacturing of the pipelines will be carried out at the Subsea7 base in Ubu, Espírito Santo. Offshore operations are scheduled to take place in 2026 and 2027.
