O Federal Institute of Santa Catarina (IFSC) announced the opening of more than 1.000 free places in technical courses for 19 cities in the state.

The selection process does not require proof and occurs by registration order, respecting priority criteria. Registration is now open and will run until the February 19, 2025.
How does the selection process work?
Candidates will be selected according to the order of registration, but there are priority criteria for certain groups. According to the IFSC, the distribution of vacancies occurs in the following order:
- People who self-declare as black, brown, indigenous, quilombola and people with disabilities;
- Students who attended elementary or high school in public schools;
- Other candidates (broad competition).
Registration is done exclusively online. Candidates must fill out a form with their personal data, information about education and answer two questionnaires: one socioeconomic and the other related to quotas.
The selection result will be announced in February 21th, 2025. Depending on the demand for the course, a reservation registration for future calls.

What types of technical courses are offered?
IFSC offers technical courses in different modalities:
- Integrated: aimed at students who wish to attend high school alongside technical training.
- Concomitant: for those who are already studying high school at another institution and want technical training at the same time.
- Subsequent: intended for those who have already completed high school and want to become professionals.
- EJA (Youth and Adult Education): recommended for adults who have not yet completed basic education and wish to obtain a technical qualification.
