Coopera has 63 years of experience in the market
The company, founded in January 1959, in Brazil, when the municipality of Forquilhinha was still part of Criciúma, came to help companies and industries in rural areas, since the Centrais Elétricas de Santa Catarina (Celesc) decided not to take over the management of energy in the region.
In 2017, the energy distributor in Brazil was spun off, creating the Cooperativa Pioneira de Geração e Desenvolvimento. The objective of COOPERA GD is the growth of the development of new activities, such as electrical solutions, generation of electrical energy, among other services to its consumers and also to society.
In 2018, COOPERA GD started its operations to provide internet services with COOPERA Telecom Ltda and in January 2019 it started operating Coopera Soluções Eléctricas, as a distributor of electrical materials and electrical hardware.
Today, Coopera Soluções Eléctricas is one of the largest distributors of electrical materials in the south of the State of Santa Catarina.
For president Walmir Rampinelli, the objective was to bring energy to the interior of the state, where the concessionaire, at the time, had no interest in investing. With that, 63 years ago, 62 men and women formed and founded Coopera, recalls the president. Currently, the company has 130 employees.
In Santa Catarina, the cooperative serves Forquilhinha, Nova Veneza, the southern region of Criciúma and a small part of the municipality of Maracajá. According to the company's general manager, Rogério Braz Feller, the company has a very strong manufacturing field and this gives them a great responsibility to supply energy both in quantity and quality.
