Opportunity for young leaders in the energy sector with the Jovens de Energia program.

Brasília, May 15, 2024 – The energy sector is at the center of the global energy transition agenda, with the urgency of combating the climate crisis through the use of renewable sources. Currently, the energy sector is responsible for 85% of carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions and is looking for ways to accelerate the decarbonization process. Brazil, with 48% of its energy matrix and 92% of its electrical matrix coming from renewable sources, leads this movement thanks to its diversity of natural resources.

Challenges and innovations in the energy sector

Despite advances, Brazil still faces significant challenges in its regulatory and corporate system. Generational transformation is essential, driven by the need for innovation and a sustainable energy transition. Training new leaders with market experience and knowledge of global trends is crucial for companies to stand out.

It was in this context that, in 2020, young people working at the Ministry of Mines and Energy created the Jovens de Energia program. The initiative aims to bring together young people passionate about the energy market with companies and experts in the sector. The program was born from the desire to offer space and integrate people from all regions of the country, providing practical learning about the energy market.

Youth Energy Program: training and development

In its 5th edition, the Jovens de Energia program has already received more than 2 thousand applications and trained 115 young leaders. Participants have the opportunity to learn from industry references, such as Barbara Rubim, Rodrigo Limp, Fernanda Delgado, Marcio Felix, Luiz Barroso and Élbia Gannoum, among others.

Lasting three months, the program aims to train and develop young leaders in the energy sector, with a focus on gender diversity and regionality. Through practical activities and technical and emotional training, the program connects participants to experts and companies, stimulating the development of essential skills for the market and addressing partners' corporate challenges.

Registration open and importance of the program

The program stands out as a fundamental initiative to meet the growing demand for qualified professionals in the energy sector. Studies indicate that the need for these professionals is expected to triple by 2030. In this sense, including young people in the job market is essential to promote the renewal and sustainable development of the Brazilian energy sector.

Registration for the 5th Edition of the Jovens de Energia program will be open until May 24th. For more information and registration, interested parties can access the website bit.ly/jovensdeenergiainscricao or contact us by email contato@energyc.com.br.
