A revolutionary new brick promises to change the construction industry by eliminating the need for cement in masonry. With an efficient interlocking system, this innovation can reduce costs, speed up construction and make the sector more sustainable.

The construction industry is constantly seeking solutions to reduce its environmental impact. Within this context, the FacadeClick, an innovative Belgian masonry brick that eliminates the need for cement and reduces material waste.

Simple and efficient assembly of the brick

Facadeclick allows the construction of walls without glue or cement, using high-density polyethylene plastic connectors.

The bricks have two central holes, through which they are fixed on top of each other with plastic clips.

For structural reinforcement, safety screws are added, and foam is injected into the wall, ensuring better thermal and acoustic insulation.

Despite the lack of cement, it is necessary to apply a layer of this material to the base of the wall to ensure stability.

Assembly is simple and can be done quickly, reducing construction time.

Environmental and economic benefits

Innovation brings sustainable advantages. Facadeclick significantly reduces construction waste, as the bricks can be reused and recycled.

Furthermore, by avoiding the use of cement, the need for a highly polluting material is minimized due to CO2 emissions in the manufacturing process.

In financial terms, the system also represents savings. Since the installation of the bricks is simple, labor time and associated costs are reduced.

Even without requiring technical specialization, the presence of an experienced professional is recommended to supervise the assembly.

Expansion and market acceptance

The technique has attracted interest in the construction sector. In 2020, ten buildings, seven in Belgium and three in the Netherlands, were built using this system, totaling approximately 10.000 m² of facades.

The acceptance of Facadeclick has led other contractors to adopt the solution in future projects, including schools and apartments.

The company's founder revealed that a construction company plans to build five single-family homes with this technology.

Among the factors that attracted the interest of professionals were the reuse of bricks, the low cost of materials and the speed of the work.

To expand its product offering and better serve architects and customers, the company has established partnerships with brick manufacturers. This collaboration allows it to offer a wider variety of materials to meet different construction needs.

Facadeclick represents a modern approach to masonry, combining efficiency, sustainability and economy.

With the growing demand for low environmental impact constructions, this system could gain even more space in the sector.

The idea is very good, but the screws, to be durable, must be made of Titanium or another very durable metal, in addition to very good workmanship and this could make the entire production more expensive.

Fabio,
Please seek further information about this, as the idea is excellent, but the construction process shared with mechanical devices will result in higher indirect MDO and MAT costs, as well as the definition of the execution processes. Since 1994, there has been an intention to launch a brick with two circular holes on the market, which does not require the use of inorganic mortar for laying, however the results have shown ineffectiveness within the warranty period, now when a mechanical structure is considered to guarantee the resistance of tensile stresses, perhaps a composite (concrete + steel) would be necessary, or something of the sort that becomes adherent to the construction components. But this is the way forward, to propose new technologies for application in civil construction. Good luck!!!!
