Over these years, the productivity of this pilot asset operated by Petrobras has accumulated 338 million barrels of oil
10 years ago, Petrobras was installing the Tupi Pilot, which is a system that allowed the equivalent production of 100 barrels of oil and 5 million cubic meters of gas, in the pre-salt of the Santos Basin, at 2.149 meters deep. The asset has 3 water injection wells, 1 gas well and 6 production wells.

Incomparably, today Tupi is the largest oil and gas production field in deep waters on the planet. After 1 decade of accumulated production under Petrobras operation, Tupi reached the mark of 264 million barrels of oil and 11,8 billion m³ of gas, totaling 338 million barrels of oil equivalent oil and gas
Well 3-RJS-646 has been operating in this system practically since the beginning and has the highest accumulated production among the wells operated by the company, of approximately 90 million barrels of oil equivalent. Currently, it still produces approximately 20 barrels per day. Three of the 20 wells with the highest accumulated production at Petrobras produce for this system.

Importance for the development of the pre-salt
The Tupi Pilot production system was responsible for collecting fundamental technical information for the development of the large oil accumulations discovered in the pre-salt layer of the Santos Basin. In this first system, most of the technologies that made production possible in the challenging pre-salt conditions were implemented and today represent an important legacy for the oil industry. These technologies guaranteed Petrobras the award from the Offshore Technology Conference (OTC) in 2015.
The Tupi field is predominantly located in the BM-S-11 concession, operated by Petrobras (65%), in partnership with Shell Brasil Petróleo Ltda (25%) and Petrogal Brasil SA (10%).
