The information was passed exclusively to Click Petróleo e Gás (CPG), the open letter from the seafarers and the official note from the subsidiary are in the following paragraphs:

As everyone is aware, we are going through difficult times, where several people have lost their lives to Covid-19 amid this pandemic.
Several families have lost dear and beloved people, and nor could they say goodbye due to having to follow the security protocols. In the face of this entire pandemic process, we see that the company is failing and making mistakes that could be fatal to the lives of its employees.
We are experiencing an outbreak of Covid 19 on board the company's ships and the main cause of this outbreak, and the number of people boarding and disembarking from ships, without proper control and testing, as required by protocols.
We are not talking about the omission of the company's employees, as they are quarantined in the hotels provided by the company right after the test and proof of a negative result for the Covid 19 the crew member boards.
However, unfortunately, these procedures do not exist with the firms that the company is sending on board, which, without proper quarantine and testing procedures, board via speedboats during the stay of the vessel at an anchorage.
Because of this, several collaborators have already taken the Covid 19, despite being on board and having quarantined, tested and followed company protocol.
By doing so, the company puts the lives of several employees at risk for the simple fact of not complying with current procedures and protocols.
Then to ask in the air…… Could it be that the company is waiting for someone to die on board to take the correct security measures?
So, due to this report and the desperation of the entire crew, because unfortunately this is a serious case, we are asking for positioning, surprise inspection on the company's vessels so that we do not have to risk our lives and that we can return to our homes with the health that we embarked on.”
Official note from Transpetro SA
“Due to the new increase in cases of Covid-19 in Brazil and in the world, Transpetro will suspend shipments in its fleet for 30 days. The measure is part of the set of emergency response actions adopted by the company with the aim of protecting the health of seafarers and preventing further contagion by the coronavirus. Thus, Transpetro reiterates its commitment to the health and safety of its employees.”
“The suspension is valid as of today (7/12) for new shipments, that is, for those seafarers who have not yet started their displacement and prior quarantine. Crew members who exceed their boarding limit time will receive monetary compensation as provided for in the Collective Bargaining Agreement (ACT) in force. “
“Transpetro has adopted robust procedures in all its units since the beginning of the pandemic, always acting diligently and within the safety protocols required by Anvisa and the Navy. Among the contagion prevention measures were included the pre-shipment quarantine period with health monitoring for all seafarers, health assessment and RT-PCR tests before boarding and, on board, the mandatory use of masks, distancing between people and strengthening hygiene and other preventive measures.”
