Toyota Yaris hatchback has a 1.5 aspirated four-cylinder Flex engine, which generates up to 110 horsepower and 14,9 kg of torque
The Toyota Yaris, one of the most popular cars in Brazil, recently received an update to remain competitive in an increasingly competitive market. Although the Yaris Sedan has gained a new generation and an SUV version, the Yaris hatchback version has not had major changes. The Japanese automaker seeks to redefine expectations and establish the Yaris as a main choice for Brazilian consumers, challenging its Polo competitors and the HB20, with an attractive value proposition, making the Yaris hatch available for a tempting entry of 58 thousand reais!
However, this mid-life update is welcome as it keeps the model up to date in terms of design and technology. Check out the changes brought by the new Yaris hatch and how they can influence its position in the market.

New Yaris design resembles the new American Corolla
The Yaris hatch underwent some visual changes that made it more attractive. At the front, the car received a new bumper with a sporty design and a Piano Black finish. The full LED headlights have also been remodeled, and the overall look is reminiscent of the new American Corolla.

On the sides, the car kept its beautiful paintwork and 15-inch wheels. At the rear, we have a new bumper with a sporty design, air vents, integrated spoiler and LED position lights. These changes helped to modernize the look of the Yaris hatch and make it more attractive to consumers.
Yaris hatch will not receive the same hybrid powertrain found in the new generation Yaris Sedan and Yaris Cross.
Unlike the Yaris Sedan and Yaris Cross, which will receive hybrid versions next year, the Yaris hatch will not have significant changes to its engine. It will continue to offer the 1.5 aspirated four-cylinder Flex engine, which generates up to 110 horsepower and 14,9 kg of torque. The performance of the Yaris hatch is average compared to its turbocharged competitors, but its average consumption is pleasing.
Unfortunately, the Yaris hatch will not receive the same hybrid powertrain found in the new generation Yaris Sedan and Yaris Cross. This would be an interesting addition, as it would provide extra performance and excellent consumption averages.
Toyota Yaris with improved interior
Inside, the Yaris hatch remained very similar to the previous model, with the main change being the new repositioned Multimedia Center with a 9-inch screen. This new center offers connectivity for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, native GPS and a rear camera. Additionally, the seats have been redesigned, but the interior space remains practically the same.
The Yaris hatch maintains an interesting list of equipment, highlighting digital climate control, in-person key, dashboard with configurable screen, multifunctional steering wheel, sunroof and seats covered in synthetic leather.
Security
In terms of safety, the Yaris hatch offers a complete set of features, including six airbags, ABS brakes, traction and stability controls, collision warning, autonomous emergency braking and lane change alert. Despite being a quality product, the Yaris hatch lags behind its competitors in terms of technology and design.
However, it is still an interesting option, especially in the more basic versions, which have a more affordable purchase price. Furthermore, the Yaris' 1.5 engine is superior to the 1.0 naturally aspirated engines found in other similar models on the market.
Updated Yaris hatch could arrive in Brazil next year!
Although the Yaris hatch hasn't received major changes compared to the previous generation, this mid-life update is a way to keep it competitive in an increasingly demanding market.
However, it looks like the Yaris hatchback will have a short lifespan as the new generation Yaris Sedan and Yaris Cross will be launched soon. The updated Yaris Hat is expected to arrive in Brazil in the second half of next year.
Toyota does not intend to make major changes to the prices of the new Yaris hatch
It is important to highlight that, to remain competitive, Toyota does not intend to make major changes to the prices of the new Yaris hatch. Toyota positions the Yaris hatchback competitively on the automotive scene, offering a range of options whose prices range between R$97.998 and R$122.90. To make the model even more accessible, the manufacturer allows the purchase of the car for a down payment of 58 thousand reais, as announced on the manufacturer's official portal.
Although it can still be considered a quality car, the Yaris hatchback faces stiff competition in terms of design and engine. However, its most basic versions offer an affordable and reliable option for those looking for a compact hatchback.
