Toyota, renowned for its innovation and quality, introduces the new Yaris hatchback to the Brazilian market, a vehicle that promises to shake up the compact segment. Originally launched in 2019 and receiving a facelift, the Yaris hatchback has undergone a significant update to remain competitive against rivals such as the Polo, Peugeot 2008, Honda City and HB20. With an interesting price, Toyota offers the Yaris hatchback for R$58 upfront.

The Yaris, although it has not changed generation, has received improvements in its design and features so as not to fall behind the competition. The model gained 2 cm in length, maintaining the other dimensions, and now displays a sportier look, with a new bumper, remodeled full LED headlights, and an improved rear design. However, the Toyota Yaris hatch engine maintains the 1.5 naturally aspirated four-cylinder, which delivers 110 horsepower and 14,9 kgfm of torque, combined with a CVT transmission that simulates seven gears.

Differentials and comparisons
Compared to the competition, the Yaris stands out for its efficient consumption, although its performance is not the fastest. Toyota chose not to include the new flex hybrid engine, available in the Yaris Sedan and Yaris Cross models, in the Brazilian hatchback. The decision aims to maintain a balance between performance, cost and energy efficiency.
Internally, the Yaris is renewed with a new 9-inch floating multimedia center, improved connectivity and redesigned seats. Even so, it maintains the comfort and quality already known, with digital climate control, in-person key, and a panel with a configurable TFT screen.
Security and price
In terms of safety, the model remains robust, offering six airbags, ABS brakes and traction and stability controls. With a competitive price positioning, Toyota seeks to keep the Yaris hatchback attractive on the market, with versions ranging from R$97.998 to R$122.90, the automaker offers the vehicle for 58 thousand reais down payment on the official website.
But, is it true that the Toyota Yaris hatch will be discontinued?
The Toyota Yaris, in its hatch and sedan versions, is scheduled to be discontinued, giving way to the new Yaris Cross, a flexible hybrid compact SUV. The change reflects Toyota's strategy of focusing on more sustainable vehicles adapted to the demands of the Brazilian market. Despite the exit, the Yaris leaves with solid sales numbers, reinforcing its legacy in the segment.
The Yaris Hatch, specifically in the 1.5 2023 Automatic version, demonstrates efficiency in fuel consumption, reaching 12,2 km/l in the city and 13,9 km/l on the highway with gasoline, and 8,7 km/l in the city and 9,8 km/l on the highway with ethanol. Those numbers highlight the balance between performance and economy, characteristics valued by consumers.
Considering the attributes and equipment, the XLS version of the Yaris stands out as the best option. This variant offers a complete package of conveniences and safety, including advanced driver assistance technologies, comfort and a superior finish, justifying its status as the most sophisticated and desired version of the Yaris range.
