Transmission lines are responsible for the path of energy to our home. Auctions serve to make concessions for new lines for the electrical system feasible.

In all, 12 lots will be auctioned in the states of Acre, Alagoas, Bahia, Ceará, Goiás, Mato Grosso, Mato Grosso do Sul, Minas Gerais, Pará, Rio de Janeiro, Rio Grande do Sul and São Paulo.

The event offered 43 developments, 25 of which are transmission lines and 18 substations. The deadlines for completion of the works vary from 36 to 60 months.

The developments in lots 1 to 9 and 12 are unprecedented and will be offered for the first time, while lot 10 comes from extinct concessions of the São Francisco Hydroelectric Company (Chesf), which had their concessions expired.

The winning companies will sign 30-year concession contracts for the construction and future operation of the projects.

Auctions for new energy transmission projects in Brazil have attracted strong interest from investors in recent years, including large international utilities such as China's State Grid and India's Sterlite, as well as local companies such as Equatorial Energia and Energisa.
