The first Ship to Ship operation in Maranhão is another milestone that consolidates Transpetro as a reference in oil and oil product logistics.

The logistics giant has just carried out a “ship to ship” (STS) in Maranhão that not only redefines efficiency standards but also promises to shake up the market. And look, the whole thing happened in Port of Itaqui!

For those floating, the Ship to Ship (STS) operation is simply the act of transferring diesel from one ship to another while they are docked. Transpetro used its ships Portinari and Rômulo Almeida to accomplish the feat, moving no less than 20 thousand m³ of S-10 diesel. It's a real logistical feat that increases the efficiency of the operation and, as a bonus, saves a lot of money.

By using STS, Transpetro can reduce the costs of oil and oil products logistics operations by up to 30%

In other words, more product arrives faster and cheaper throughout Brazil. And that's not all, this type of transfer makes the port more agile and efficient, freeing up space for other vessels.

About Transpetro and the Port of Itaqui

Transpetro is not in this just because of a stroke of luck. Until August this year, the company had already carried out 432 fuel transfers in the country, all with the environmental safety guarantee seal. It is no surprise that it ranks as the largest multimodal logistics operator for oil and oil products in Latin America.

Now, the Port of Itaqui It is not just any port, it is one of the main points for receiving and distributing derivatives from Brazil. From diesel to gasoline, everything arrives there to then be sent overland to gas stations in states such as Maranhão, Piauí, Tocantins, Goiás, Mato Grosso and Pará. With the addition of STS to the mix, this whole dynamic can only benefit !
