The United States Embassy in Brazil announced the opening of registrations for the Young Ambassadors Program (JE), an unmissable exchange opportunity in the USA for young Brazilians. This prestigious program seeks to select students who stand out for their engagement in socio-environmental actions, academic excellence, English proficiency and leadership skills. Who can participate in the exchange and study in the USA?

The 2025 edition, titled “JE – 30 for COP 30!” in the United States, it will look for 30 young people who are involved in social impact projects focused on combating climate change. To apply for the Young Ambassadors Program for exchange in the US, candidates must meet the following requirements:

  • Have communication skills in English;
  • Attending high school in the Brazilian public network;
  • In addition, you must have excellent academic performance;
  • Be engaged in a socio-environmental initiative that benefits the community;
  • Be Brazilian and be between 15 and 18 years old during the exchange period;
  • Never having traveled to the United States.


The 2025 Young Ambassadors Program will take place from January 10th to 26th starting with a week of orientation in Brasília. During the short-term US exchange, selected young people will participate in several enriching activities, including developing leadership and communication skills, participating in cultural impact projects with North American students.

Finally, visits to historic sites in the USA. These activities, then, aim to provide a comprehensive experience that combines learning, personal development and cultural exchange.

How to apply for the United States exchange

To register for the exchange program in the USA, which covers air tickets, accommodation, food, health insurance, visa courses and general guidelines, you must access the Young Ambassadors website and read the entire notice carefully.

Registration is open until September 3rd, offering young people the chance to participate in a program that combines personal development and contribution to environmental and global issues.

Promoted by the US Department of State, the initiative is coordinated by the US Embassy and Consulates in Brazil and implemented by Grupo + Unidos, reinforcing the commitment to developing conscious young leaders prepared to face global challenges.

Selection process for exchange in the USA

The first step consists of completing the Pre-Registration, people interested in the JE receive an automatic response informing whether or not they meet all the requirements and whether they can continue in the selection process.

If approved in the first stage, people interested in the program in the United States must complete the Online Application Form and attach documents proving all prerequisites.

All documentation uploaded to the Young Ambassadors Program online platform is sent to Partner Institutions and, after analysis, people interested in JE are approved or not for the next stage. People approved in the previous stage carry out the written assessment on dates and times defined by the program organization, as described in the schedule.

The IPs review the written evaluations of the people who applied through them, together with the application form and documents supporting the prerequisites and nominate up to two of these people for the next stage of the selection process.

A committee made up of representatives from US Embassy and Consulates in Brazil evaluates the material of the people recommended by the IPs and selects those with the highest scores to carry out the oral interview. The complete notice can be found on the registration website.
