Understand about the electric motorcycle project of Brazilian university students
The main people responsible for the project of the Brazilian electric motorcycle are the competition team from the Automobile and Urban Mobility Laboratory (Lamau), Tadarida MotoRacing UFU, with support from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and other university students from other courses at the Federal University of Uberlândia. The creator of the electric motorcycle in Uberlândia is Mechanical Engineering student Ruy de Sousa Alves.
According to Ruy, the electric motorcycle has a very high potential, which cannot be explored by the students because they have their limitations, but the project is an electric competition motorcycle, its structural part was developed with state-of-the-art technology with a large part of materials coming from China and other countries, making the project achieve a high yield.

Tests of the electric motorcycle of university students from Uberlândia
Before going to the event in Spain, the university students intend to carry out two tests on the track with a pilot. The first test will be carried out in Uberlândia, on a drag raceway, which will take place in about two months.
The second test will take place at the Interlagos Racetrack, in São Paulo. According to Ruy, we have a pilot, Niko Ramos, from São Paulo, who despite being young has been racing for many years. He will come to Uberlândia for the test.
Amount invested in the project
With the difficulties in carrying out the project, the team of university students from Uberlândia mobilized to obtain resources with the sale of water at traffic lights, searches for partnerships, raffles and several other ways. And although they raised more than R$ 120 thousand, in 2 years of hard work, there is a possibility that the electric bike will not go to the Spanish competition.
According to Ruy, the estimated expenses with transporting the motorcycle to and from the event and the costs with logistics on the part of the university students and the rider will be around R$40. According to Ruy, university students are unable to raise funds in person due to the Covid-19 pandemic. So, the alternative they have left is with supporters who can make donations from R$ 10 through from that link.
