Leak history since Pix
Since the launch of Pix in 2019, this is the 16th data leak related to the system, but it is considered one of the smallest in terms of exposed records. Even so, the Central Bank and Caixa Econômica Federal reinforce their commitment to digital security and the protection of user data.
In situations like this, the Central Bank has the fundamental role of establishing security standards for the financial system, while it is up to Caixa Econômica to improve the protection of its digital platforms.
So far, Caixa Econômica Federal has not released an official statement, but more details are expected to be released soon, reassuring users with an account at Caixa Econômica about the preventive measures.
The importance of digital security
Digital security is essential to protect personal and financial data. Given the increasing digitalization of banking services, the Central Bank recommends that users be aware of the most common fraudulent tactics, such as fake links sent by SMS or email, and websites that simulate official platforms for data theft.
Tips to avoid scams and stay safe To prevent fraud, it is essential to:
Always confirm the origin of messages and avoid clicking on suspicious links. Keep security systems, such as browsers and antivirus, always up to date.
Use only official channels for information about services and financial assistance, such as the Caixa website (caixa.gov.br) and the Caixa app, ensuring safe and secure access.
The Central Bank remains committed to ensuring safety of the Brazilian financial system, and this statement aims to reinforce the confidence of users with an account at Caixa Econômica, in addition to raising awareness about the importance of safe practices when using digital services.
