The early termination of Caio Mário Paes' mandate was communicated by Petrobras on the morning of the 04th.
The Brazilian giant Petrobras informed, this Wednesday morning, that its Board of Directors approved the early termination of Mr. Caio Mário Paes de Andrade as President of Petrobras, effective from today. The company also informed that Paes also resigned as a member of the q the company.
With the position vacant, the chairman of the board of directors appointed as interim president of Petrobras the executive director of production development, Joao Henrique Rittershaussen, until another election of the new president can take place.
Rittershaussen holds a degree in electrical engineering from UFMG (Federal University of Minas Gerais), and in petroleum engineering from Petrobras, with an MBA in Business Management from Coppead (UFRJ) and Advanced Management Program from Insead (Institut Européen d'Administration des Affaires) at France. The interim president of Petrobras has been with the company for 35 years.

Petrobras' new president already has a nomination from the Lula government
The Lula government has already made official the appointment of Jean Paul Prates to lead the company, which is already being analyzed by the Chief of Staff and will later be forwarded to Petrobras.
