Chevrolet Agile has an attractive price in the Brazilian used car market. For less than R$30, find out if it is still worth buying a used Chevrolet car

Chevrolet introduced the Agile to the Brazilian market in 2009, during a turbulent global economic climate. The Chevrolet Agile, built on the reliable GM 4200 platform, sought to attract consumers by delivering a combination of generous interior space and affordable technology. Now, the model has been standing out as a used Chevrolet car in the automotive market.

History of the Chevrolet Agile in the Brazilian market

The model was launched in Brazil in 2009, with the mission of helping Chevrolet regain its breath after the 2008 crisis. It is based on the same platform as the Corsa, however, it received significant adjustments to become a more attractive, equipped and spacious model.

Therefore, even though it was discontinued in 2014, the Chevrolet Agile remains a great option on the used market, offering good value for money in terms of price, comfort and equipment.

Chevrolet's used car quickly won over the public by offering a diverse set of standard features that, until then, were exclusive to higher categories. The Chevrolet Agile's highlights included cruise control, on-board computer and automatic headlight activation, features that set it apart from other popular models of the time.

Equipped with a 1.4 8V engine, the Agile provided good and acceptable performance and fuel consumption. However, some points, such as the finish and noise level, were criticized by consumers. Points such as poorly positioned pedals and the trunk that only opened with the key were also highlighted.

Still, the used Chevrolet car demonstrated resistance, being well evaluated in long-term tests. The LTZ version of the Chevrolet Agile stood out for offering more comfort and technology items, strengthening itself as the preferred choice of consumers.

Main problems found in used Chevrolet cars

In 2013, the Chevrolet Agile underwent a restyling that mainly changed its front end. However, production of the model ended in 2014, along with that of the Sonic, due to the arrival of the Onix. The model was manufactured in Argentina until the end of 2016 and is still an attractive option on the used car market.

Among the main defects found in used Chevrolet cars are the engine mounts. The problem causes vibrations when starting off, which are usually confused with clutch wear and can be resolved by replacing the mounts.

It is also necessary to check the presence and corrosion status of the exhaust tip. Its absence can cause the trunk floor to overheat. Problems with the ignition coil, indicated by a flashing fault light, cost around R$500 to repair. In addition, it is worth mentioning that, before purchasing a used Chevrolet car, it is necessary to check the clutch and hydraulic actuators to avoid high costs.

Reasons to buy the Chevrolet Agile

The Agile surprises with its large interior space. In a segment where most of its competitors are more compact, it stands out with its good use of space, providing comfort for passengers, both in the front and in the back seats. In addition, the trunk of this used Chevrolet car is also one of the largest in the category, perfect for those looking to transport more luggage.

Even in its simplest versions, the model also comes with several standard equipment, as mentioned above. Despite some finishing flaws and maintenance problems in some models, the Agile stands out for its good cost-benefit ratio. Costing less than R$30, it is possible to find units with low mileage, good mechanics and a good equipment package.
