A University of São Paulo (USP) announced the opening of registrations for two free courses, one of which is virtual. In total, the institution offers 1.500 vacancies. Opportunities are for training in Clinical Environments at the Faculty of Dentistry of Ribeirão Preto (FORP), where 500 vacancies are being opened, and for the course on Prevention of Alcohol Consumption in Primary Health Care, where USP offers 1000 vacancies.

The programme of Biosafety in Clinical Environments It is aimed at people who have a current link with FORP-USP and its main focus is to train professors, undergraduate and graduate students), civil servants and other researchers who work in a clinical environment at FORP to the new Biosafety protocols.
The course is scheduled to be held between July 30th and August 16th. Applications can be made until the 24th of July.

The online course of Prevention of Alcohol Consumption in Primary Health Care, focuses on training health professionals to find, address and prevent alcohol abuse, encouraging early diagnosis and brief intervention.
At the end of the USP course, students will be ready to understand the problem of harmful consumption, demystify taboos related to alcohol abuse, among others. The course is scheduled to be held from July 26th to August 30th and registrations can be made until July 25th.

USP has new opportunities in 2023
In addition to these free online courses, USP has recently made other opportunities available and plans to offer other free courses later this year. As is the case with free online courses for women: Girls Programmers and Astrominas 2023.
In its 20th class, the Girls Programmers course has already trained more than 600 students throughout Brazil. The course focuses on those who have completed or are attending high school, and identify as female or non-binary.
Classes will be held every Saturday from 14pm to 17pm and the next class starts on June 24th and should end on July 22nd.
In 2023 the astrominas course should make around 600 vacancies available to women free of charge. In this training, the students themselves are the ones who create the class routine, being asynchronous activities. Those interested in enrolling must identify themselves as female, be between 14 and 17 years old by June 30 and be enrolled in a basic education school.
