USP has thousands of vacancies in free courses with a guaranteed certificate of completion. There are more than 70 courses in areas such as Philosophy, Human Sciences, Letters and more.
A USP enrollment is open for its free summer courses in 2023. Through this initiative, University of São Paulo hopes to democratize access to knowledge in the areas of Philosophy, Social Sciences, Literature, Geography and History. For those who dreamed of studying at USP, but were unable to pass the institution's competitive entrance exam, it is worth having this offer of free remote courses, which act as a university extension project.
USP offers more than 4 places in free courses
In this round, the Faculty of Philosophy, Letters and Human Sciences (FFLCH) will provide 4.135 places in total in 52 free courses at USP, which will be promoted online by the Commission for Culture and University Extension.
This is not the first time that the university has offered free summer training. In 2020, the first edition of the event was held, which provided 2.600 opportunities in 70 formations. Anyone can register and participate in a free course at USP, provided they are interested in the subject and available to participate in classes. Incidentally, as opportunities are limited, USP carries out a selection process for new students to be recruited. Course classes will be taught by graduate students and professors.

Division of free courses offered by USP
It is important to highlight that the free courses available are divided into three groups:
Philosophical, historical and geographical studies (Group 1)
This group has 14 free courses from USP on important topics, such as the cultural war in contemporary Brazil, science criticism, Marxism, cinema and fashion at the end of the XNUMXth century, Shakespeare, visual culture in the People's Republic of China, Simone de Beauvoir, among others.
Anthropology, Politics and Society Studies (Group 2)
This group has 10 formations, which focus on themes such as Hollywood and Neoliberalism, posthumous life in slavery, war in Ukraine, conflicts in the Middle East, ethnography, yoga, the Northeast in Brazilian social formation and much more.
Linguistic and Literary Studies (Group 3)
Finally, Literature students and those who want to learn more about literature also have good reasons to choose a course. USP offers courses on XNUMXth century Portuguese literature, science fiction, creativity and creation and social criticism, metaphysics of literature, language teaching in Brazil and love in Clarice Lispector.
Applications for the selection process can be completed online.
Entries can be made exclusively online, through the Apolo platform. The registration period follows a schedule. It is necessary to see which group the course of interest fits into, so that the deadline is not missed.
Anyone over the age of 18 can participate in USP's free courses. Enough access the system and express interest, without having to pay any fees or sign in. After accessing the Apolo platform, it is necessary to select the FFLCH unit and choose one of the training options. The selection process consists of raffles that will be held throughout this month and the next.
Candidates will be ranked in the free courses according to the order drawn. Each student will receive an automatic email with the result of the draw, whether positive or negative. Those who are contemplated with a vacancy and cannot participate should contact the secretariat via email agenda@usp.br. It is important to mention that all summer courses issue USP certificates. However, it is necessary to have a minimum attendance of 75% in classes.
