The Redigir Project, promoted by the USP School of Communications and Arts, is aimed at low-income people and will have in-person classes on Saturdays on campus. The course is free and focuses on communication and citizenship.
The University of São Paulo (USP) is accepting applications for the Redigir Project, a free writing and Portuguese language course offered by the School of Communications and Arts (ECA). Aimed at low-income individuals over the age of 16, the program seeks to strengthen citizenship through language, promoting access to knowledge in an inclusive and accessible way.
In-person classes will take place on Saturdays, from 10:30 am to 12 pm, at the ECA-USP campus, located in the West Zone of São Paulo. The course will be held from April 5 to June 28, 2025. Registration must be made by March 29, through an online form published on the project's official channels.
Who can participate?
To register, you must be 16 years of age or older, not have a degree from a public higher education institution, and reside in the city of São Paulo or its metropolitan region. Minors must submit an authorization signed by their guardians, according to the model available on the project's Instagram.

What does the course offer?
The course, which is completely free, proposes activities that involve critical reading, text interpretation, textual production and debates on social and cultural themes. The main difference of the Redigir Project is its focus: more than teaching how to write well, it seeks to reflect on the use of language as a tool for social transformation.
Created in 1999 by students from ECA-USP, the Redigir Project has already benefited thousands of participants and is now coordinated by student volunteers, with guidance from university professors.
Social importance of the Redigir Project
Writing not only strengthens participants’ language skills, but also broadens their social and PROFESSIONALS. According to data from the project itself, a large part of the former students used the content learned to improve their performance in the job market, in entrance exams or public examinations.
Furthermore, the course promotes participatory dynamics and current discussions, valuing the individual repertoire of each student and promoting the cultural and linguistic diversity of the participants.
How to apply?
Registrations are open until March 29, 2025 and can be made online, using the form published on the project's official Instagram: @projectoredigir. It is necessary to fill in all mandatory fields and, in the case of minors, attach authorization from parents or guardians.
