EDP, the world leader in the renewable energy sector and the largest Portuguese investor in Brazil, has opened enrollment for the fifth edition of its trainee program to select professionals to compose the company's staff for the coming years. “The EDP Trainee Program is an annual program that fosters in-depth knowledge of the EDP Group and provides a range of diversified experiences. This year, and taking into account the current situation, the program is prepared to receive all young people with a 100% remote onboarding. Then, the 2 job rotations that the program envisages may take place in a face-to-face, hybrid or remote model, depending on the model in effect at the time and the evolution of the pandemic in each geography. Regardless of the model used, the possibility of international experiences remains, in line with other editions”, refers an official source.
The Treinee program is remunerated, although the company has not disclosed the value. “Our Trainees Program is remunerated according to the best practices in the markets where we operate, and compensates all young people for their knowledge, skills, performance and energy”.

Lasting 7 months, the trainee program challenges candidates “to actively contribute to innovative solutions that will respond to the current challenges of the energy sector, such as digitization and decarbonization”, says the company. “In return, these young people will have the opportunity to accelerate their personal and professional development.”
All stages of the recruitment process will be carried out digitally, being adaptable to the different needs of candidates”, describes EDP.
Once the selection process is complete, interns have a “one-month onboarding, and two rotations for a total of six months, in different business areas, geographies or companies of the EDP group”, explains the company.
“In September 2021, it will be time for trainees to join the company's staff in Portugal or in one of the other 18 countries in which EDP is present.” A different model in the face of the current pandemic situation.
