- Alagoas: This state showed an increase in 6,6%, closely followed by Amapá e Amazonboth with 6,4%.
- Espírito Santo: Similarly, it expanded its fleet in 5,9%, standing out among the biggest growths.
- São Paulo: As expected, it remained in absolute leadership, adding 1,07 million new vehicles em 2024.
The Role of São Paulo in the Growth of the Brazilian Fleet
When analyzing the data, it becomes clear that São Paulo remains the largest automotive market in Brazil. Furthermore, with a fleet of 34,3 million vehicles, the state represents 27,7% of the national total.
Other states that also stood out in this scenario include:
- Minas Gerais: This state holds 11,3% of the national fleet, thus consolidating its importance in the sector.
- Paraná: The Paraná fleet represents 7,4% of the Brazilian total, demonstrating significant growth.
- Rio Grande do Sul: The southern state has 6,7% of the national fleet and, consequently, continues to expand its numbers.
Fastest Growing Vehicle Segments
Certain segments of the national fleet have seen significantly greater growth than others. Among them, the following stand out:
- Utilities: This segment has seen significant growth in 13,9%, thus consolidating its relevance in the market.
- Quads: This type of vehicle has seen a notable increase in 12,1% in the past year.
- Scooters: This segment had an expansion of 8,2%, being widely used, especially in large cities.
- Mopeds: The growth of 8,1% this sector undoubtedly reinforces its importance in urban transport.
In absolute terms, the most purchased vehicles were:
- Cars: The number of cars has grown 1,5 million units, thus leading the market.
- Motorcycles: The increase was 1,4 million units, thus confirming its popularity.
- Trucks: The fleet in this segment has grown 522,6 thousand units in the period analyzed.
The Impact of Vehicle Production on Fleet Expansion
The automotive industry also registered significant growth. Thus, in 2024, vehicle production in Brazil increased 9,7%, reaching 2,54 million units manufactured. This volume exceeded the 2,32 million in 2023 and consequently reached its highest level since 2019, as disclosed by National Association of Automotive Vehicle Manufacturers (Anfavea).
Expectations for the Coming Years
If this trend continues, the Brazilian fleet will continue to grow rapidly in the coming years.
Furthermore, sustainable models are expected to gain more and more space in the market. This is mainly due to new environmental regulations and changes in consumer behavior. According to the National Electric Energy Agency (Aneel), growth is expected of 60% in the electric vehicle market by 2030.
