A Canadian explorer stumbled upon an abandoned oil pipeline in the middle of the forest. How did it get there? What happened to this structure? Find out the details!
Spending the night in an unusual place is already a challenge in itself. Now, imagine sleeping inside an abandoned oil pipeline in the middle of a forest.
That's exactly what Canadian adventurer Steve Wallis did, recording everything in a video that caught attention on social media.
The story behind the pipeline
The pipeline in question was built with concrete segments and, according to Wallis, has been unused since the 1970s.

- “Brazilian” Portuguese becomes an internet meme after controversy between Brazil and Portugal
- Almost 2 km long and 30 meters wide, the largest wooden structure in the world is inaugurated in Japan
- Archaeologists have discovered a 3.300-year-old shipwreck in the Mediterranean Sea
It is estimated to have existed for over a century, but was replaced by a more efficient system after suffering from leaks that compromised half of the water transported.
Today, it remains a vestige of an industrial past amidst lush nature.
The Steve Wallis Experience
The discovery of the location was possible thanks to a follower of his channel, who pointed out a hatch to access the tube.
When he realized he could spend the night there, Wallis decided to take on the challenge. Before settling in, he did some improvised cleaning and applied insect repellent to keep insects away. In the video he recently posted, he shares his experience:
“It was a really cold night camping in the pipe, but I survived! It was an extremely fun adventure and it was cool to see such abandoned infrastructure.”
The idea may seem risky to many, but for lovers of camping and urban exploration, it is a unique opportunity. The video reveals a claustrophobic and at the same time fascinating environment, referring to the idea of a reliquary lost in time.
