The three new solar power plants together have 18,4 peak megawatts (MWp) of installed capacity. This is yet another initiative by Vivo and Helexia in the renewable energy market in Paraná.

The companies Vivo and Helexia inaugurated, in April, three new plants of solar energy, located in the cities of Alto Paraná, Cidade Gaúcha and Loanda, in Paraná. For this Tuesday, (09/05), the telephone company continues to invest in renewable energy projects throughout Brazil. The new plants, together, have the capacity to supply more than 1,7 of the company's consumption points, using Helexia's technology to ensure even more efficiency.

Vivo expands renewable energy production with the support of Helexia technologies in new solar power plants in Paraná

Vivo continues to invest in renewable energy sources and in April it inaugurated three more solar plants in its distributed generation initiative.

Helexia's developments are located in the cities of Alto Paraná, Cidade Gaúcha and Loanda, in Paraná.

The three plants, together, add up to 18,4 MWp of installed capacity, capable of supplying more than 1,7 Vivo consumption points, offering even more energy security to Telefone's operations.

The initiative is part of a larger company initiative. It aims to install a total of 85 solar, water or biogas power plants throughout Brazil.

Of the total, 61% will come from solar sources, 30% from water (small hydroelectric plants) and 9% from biogas. More than 711 MWh/year will be produced, which is equivalent to the consumption of a city with up to 320 inhabitants.

With the inauguration of three new renewable energy plants, Helexia reaches the mark of 23,3 MWp in commercial operation in Brazil.

The energy produced will be injected into the Integrated National System (SIN) and will become credit for Vivo, which hopes to save on electricity bills.

In total, there will be eight thousand consumption points of the operator distributed in eight Brazilian states, namely: Rondônia, Mato Grosso do Sul, Paraná, São Paulo, Ceará, Amazonas, Rio Grande do Sul and Tocantins.

Vivo continues to set an example of commitment to sustainability and environmental responsibility, contributing to a cleaner and more conscious future by investing in renewable energy.

Vivo expands distributed generation project and invests in energy efficiency programs

In addition to the renewable energy distributed generation project with Helexia, Vivo is investing in energy efficiency.

In 2021, Vivo's energy efficiency program achieved savings of 62,38 GWh of energy.

The Telefônica group, of which Vivo is a part, has the environmental challenge of reducing energy consumption per unit of traffic by 90% by 2025, compared to 2015.

In addition, the company is committed to maintaining 100% of electricity generated from renewable sources, demonstrating its commitment to sustainability.

The initiative to build new solar energy plants with Helexia in the state of Paraná will contribute to achieving the goals desired by the group.

Since 2018, the company's energy consumption has been 100% renewable. With this initiative, Vivo reduced its CO₂ emissions by 70% compared to 2015 and since 2019 it has been a carbon neutral company.

The company is committed to continuing to look for ways to contribute to a more sustainable future and reduce its environmental footprint.

Vivo's investment in renewable energy is one of the strategies to achieve these goals, and the solar power plant project with Helexia is just one step on a great path to be traced.
