The launch of the first tractor with automation technology in Brazil, the Galileu, is an essential part of the innovation investment plan of the company VIX Logística, a reference in the state of Espírito Santo regarding the adoption of modernization in its operations.

The Espírito Santo company VIX Logística continues to invest in modernization and innovation in the logistics sector this Thursday, (28/07), and launched the first tractor with automation throughout Brazil, the so-called Galileo, which will allow new directions for the company's operations. The investment for the development of the vehicle was BRL 6 million and the company will now be able to continue adopting even more technology in its processes, optimizing the time spent in operations and reducing logistical costs.

Galileu tractor is the first in Brazil to have automation technology and guarantees the company VIX Logística one more step in the search for innovation in the sector

The largest logistics company of the Águia Branca Group, VIX Logística, located in the state of Espírito Santo, took another step towards innovation in its production processes and launched the first tractor with automation technology in Brazil, the Galileu. This is the first vehicle of its kind with level 4 automation, that is, capable of moving on its own, and is an essential part of the company's fleet modernization plan.

And, in addition to being the first and only one in Brazil to have this type of automation technology, it is also among the few that exist worldwide, since this level of robotization is not often seen in the global market.

But it is not only in terms of modernization that the VIX Logística tractor manages to stand out, since the vehicle has a total volume capacity of over 80 tons, quite high for logistics operations carried out in the national territory.

The entire development of the project began during 2021 and took place at the headquarters of VIX Logística, located in Vitória, capital of Espírito Santo. For this, there was a total investment of R$ 6 million and this is still the first practical result of Viva (VIX Autonomous Vehicles), the company's new business unit.

Despite having contact with several partners and suppliers from all over Brazil, the construction of the Galileu tractor took place entirely at the facilities of VIX Logística, guaranteeing even more reference to the company in the field of automation technology.

Launch of the Galileu tractor, the first level 4 automation technology in Brazil, will enable more efficiency and operational quality for the logistics company

The director of VIX and one of the creators of the project, Elias Alves, commented more on the development of the Galileu tractor and the importance of a level 4 automation technology for the company's operations, highlighting that VIX Logística will be able to expand its presence even further in the logistics market with a focus on modernization and will become an even greater reference in the sector.

“We will have more efficiency and safety in our operations. Replicating what was done in Galileu is simple, we have thirty tractors that will soon have the same level of automation as the vehicle we are launching now”, said the executive. The CEO of VIX Logística, Patrícia Chieppe, said: “It is a new world, and VIX, with Viva, assumes a pioneering role. We believe and will continue to invest in automation and digitalization, not only in equipment, but also in processes.”

In addition to moving alone with automation technology, the Galileu tractor has redundant security systems and has a physical device installed around the vehicle that, when activated, activates the security mode, ensuring even more modernization in its operations.
