Transforming Partnership for the Energy Future

The powerful trio formed by Voltalia, the Government of the State of Ceará and the Industrial and Port Complex of Pecém (CIPP) is on board of a Green Hydrogen project that promises to transform Brazil's energy landscape.

This pact, signed in Rotterdam, Netherlands, on May 11, 2023, seeks to structure the production of Green Hydrogen and its derivatives in the State of Ceará, incorporating local universities and technological centers in this revolutionary undertaking.

Voltalia: Leadership in Clean Energy

With an impressive track record of investing in clean energy in Northeast Brazil, Voltalia is poised to harness the potential of Green Hydrogen in the region.

Robert Klein, CEO of Voltalia Brasil, emphasizes the potential of highly competitive solar and wind energy in the region, which can leverage the production of Green Hydrogen for global markets.

Europe in particular is looking at alternatives to fossil fuels, positioning the Port of Rotterdam as a major hub for the distribution of Green Hydrogen.

Ceará and Pecém: Potential for the Green Hydrogen Revolution

The Government of the State of Ceará and the CIPP are committed to exploring the potential for the development of the Green Hydrogen production, distribution, storage and transport chain in the Pecém Complex. This initiative is a crucial step in the fight against climate change and the quest for global decarbonization.

This agreement, signed during the World Hydrogen Summit & Exhibition 2023, signals a joint commitment to cooperate in the development of Green Hydrogen, Green Ammonia and e-Methanol. The plan includes training local labor, structuring an appropriate supply chain and optimizing conditions for a production unit within the CIPP's Export Processing Zone (ZPE).

The Future is Green and Prosperous

This pioneering partnership between Voltalia, Ceará and Pecém is more than a breakthrough in clean energy. It is a revolution that promises to positively impact not only the environment, but also the economy and society.

Generating Green Hydrogen is a step towards a cleaner and more prosperous future, creating sustainable business opportunities and jobs for local communities. And, as Robert Klein, CEO of Voltalia, put it, “we are happy to lead this movement and participate in an energy revolution that will positively impact not only the environment, but also the economy and society.”
